Claire Danes: What do you look for in a role? What attracts you to a project?
Don Cheadle: I think a lot of times it’s just something I haven’t done before. A way to stretch out and try to play something that really kind of scares me a little bit. I had this conversation with the producers (on “House of Lies”) when we were developing the role, and I was like, “This dude’s a douchebag. Where’s the connectivity? How do we root for him?” And my producer said, “It’s about being relatable. He doesn’t have to be likable, we just want to be able to understand him.”Continue Reading (…)

The 5th season of “Homeland” starts filming tomorrow in Berlin, Germany, and Showtime has added several new series regulars to its cast: German actor Sebastian Koch (The Lives of Others), who plays a German philanthropist and Carrie’s (Clarie Danes) boss; Actress Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), the current Berlin Chief of Station, working directly under Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin);Alexander Fehling (Inglourious Basterds), who’s legal counsel for the Düring Foundation and Carrie’s boyfriend; and Sarah Sokolovic (Cold Comes the Night) as an American journalist in Berlin who works for the Düring Foundation. The official announcement came from Entertainment Weekly.
“Season five will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison’s ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the ‘war on terror,’ Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working for a private security firm.”
