The ‘promotion’ for PBS’s art series ‘Art21’, which Claire will be hosting this season, has begun. W Magazine has recently talked to her about her culture diet – books, TV shows, movies, songs and more.

PBS’s much beloved art series “Art21” is getting a makeover this season, shifting its focus to the cities artists live in. Plus it’s adding some Hollywood star power with a new host, Claire Danes. The actress got into the art world early on growing up in Soho with two artist parents, and in between filming “Homeland” and raising her three-year old son in Brooklyn, she found time to get to know the Chicago, L.A., Mexico, and Vancouver scenes too – not to mention names like Nick Cave, Barbara Kasten, and Theaster Gates for the new season of “Art21.” Get a taste of her taste before the season premiere next Friday in her culture diet, here.

First thing you read in the morning:
First thing I read is the weather. Then the Times’ Morning Briefing on my phone. Oh, and my lines for the day. Best to cram ’em in right before bed and first thing in the a.m.

Books on your bedside table right now:
Love’s Executioner: & Other Tales of Psychotherapy by Irvin D. Yalom, The Patrick Melrose Novels by Edward St. Aubyn, and an alarming stack of home décor magazines.

‘Homeland’ Season 6 has begun shooting in New York City! Claire has been seen on set a couple of times, along with co-star Rupert Friend, who plays Peter Quinn. Showtime has confirmed that the show has been renewed for two more seasons and that Season 6 will premiere January 15. We also know that it will be set in New York City, and that its newly elected POTUS will be a female. Our gallery has been updated with two albums of Claire hanging out on set on August 18 and 22.

Empire Magazine is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the film ‘Romeo + Juliet’! Their August issue features a 6 page article on the risks of making the film, production details, the changes from the original story and, of course, Claire. According to director Baz Luhrmann, it took them a while to find the perfect actress for the part, until fellow director Jane Campion recommended he check out Claire, who was starring in the show My So-Called Life back in the day.

Luhrmann was impressed “I went ‘Wow, that girl has tremendous maturity.’ This young girl had to come to Mexico and make this postmodern film, so you needed someone who had their head on the right way, and good family support. Claire was clearly so in command of her gifts, and chemically you really needed someone who could hold their own against Leonardo because he’s so dazzling on screen”.

Make sure you check out the issue for more on Claire’s chemistry with Leo, the film’s award nominations and etc. It’s a great article for the fans! We have added scans of it to our photo gallery.

Claire attended the ‘Homeland’ panel at the TCA Summer Press Tour, along with co-star Mandy Patinkin and showrunner Alex Gansa. Unfortunately for most of us, the panel isn’t recorded, so we don’t have much of a chance to find a video of it online. We do have several several articles to help us with the panel’s content, so here’s what’s new: Quinn is returning! In a different condition, apparently, but he’ll definitely be back. Also, the show’s newly elected POTUS will be female and a junior senator from New York. Visit Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter to read more (though this is basically a summary of what’s in there!). Our gallery has been updated with images from the event, check them out!
