Claire Danes and John Krasinski star in the Public Theater’s Dry Powder—a vicious and hilarious drama skewering the people who skewer our global economy.

The catastrophic results of financial recklessness can be found everywhere these days—in headlines, on movie screens (The Big Short). Now the human cost of ruthless greed is coming to the Public Theater in Dry Powder, the 33-year-old Sarah Burgess’s scathingly funny, remarkably assured play about the battle for the soul of a private equity firm, starring Claire Danes and—making his professional stage debut—John Krasinski. Directing is the brilliant Thomas Kail, coming off the triumphs of Hamilton and the live-network-TV broadcast of Grease to helm a chamber piece, albeit one that goes for the jugular. “I had such a strong reaction to the confidence and muscularity and precision of Sarah’s writing,” says Kail, who is staging the play in the round. “I wanted to get all of us as close to the action as possible, to create a mini-colosseum where we could watch these characters crash into each other.”

Claire and Hank Azaria are joining John Krasinski in the play Dry Powder, the Public Theater announced today, and ‘Hamilton’ helmer Thomas Kail will direct the production, which is debuting in March.

Described as a reflection on the price of success as viewed through the people molding and messing with the American economy, the play will begin previews March 1 and has been extended to run through April 24. An official opening date has yet to be announced.

Penned by Sarah Burgess and making its world premiere, the play stars Krasinksi as Seth, the managing director of a private equity firm who engineers a fix to rescue his boss from an embarrassing public relations nightmare after his extravagant lifestyle is held up for scrutiny against the mass layoffs he triggered at a national grocery chain. However, Seth discovers that his female counterpart Jenny (Danes) has other, more ruthless plans for the struggling company acquired as part of the firm’s image rehab.

The off-Broadway production will be staged by Thomas Kail, hot off directing the musical smash Hamilton, which played a sell-out extended premiere run at the Public earlier this year and has since transferred to Broadway, generating ecstatic reviews and stellar grosses. Sanjit De Silva rounds out the show’s cast.

According to an article posted by Variety, the 6th season of ‘Homeland’ will be set in the United States once again, this time in New York City. Showtime’s hit spy series has filmed all over the globe — from South Africa to Berlin. Read more about the upcoming season below.

Newly minted CEO David Nevins told reporters that “Homeland” will film its next season “in and around New York City,” revealing the news during his executive session at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif. on Tuesday.

President of programming Gary Levine heaped praise on showrunner/executive producer Alex Gansa, saying, “We are in awe how Alex Gansa and his writers reinvent ‘Homeland’ every season. It’s exciting to see how they bring it back to the U.S. and reinvent it again.”

Nevins also addressed the fate of Quinn (Rupert Friend), who suffered sarin gas poisoning last season — and was last seen locked in a hospital room with Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes). “I know and have seen exactly as much as you guys have seen,” he said. “There is no definitive answer given.”
