According to an article posted by Variety, the 6th season of ‘Homeland’ will be set in the United States once again, this time in New York City. Showtime’s hit spy series has filmed all over the globe — from South Africa to Berlin. Read more about the upcoming season below.
Newly minted CEO David Nevins told reporters that “Homeland” will film its next season “in and around New York City,” revealing the news during his executive session at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif. on Tuesday.
President of programming Gary Levine heaped praise on showrunner/executive producer Alex Gansa, saying, “We are in awe how Alex Gansa and his writers reinvent ‘Homeland’ every season. It’s exciting to see how they bring it back to the U.S. and reinvent it again.”
Nevins also addressed the fate of Quinn (Rupert Friend), who suffered sarin gas poisoning last season — and was last seen locked in a hospital room with Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes). “I know and have seen exactly as much as you guys have seen,” he said. “There is no definitive answer given.”
Claire will be the guest of honor at this year’s Women in the Arts fundraiser, Steppenwolf Theatre Company announced Wednesday. She will speak about her experiences navigating a career in film and television.
Danes, a four-time Golden Globe winner, currently stars in “Homeland” with ensemble member Tracy Letts. This morning, she was again nominated for a SAG Award for her performance in the Showtime drama.
Danes joins a group of past honorees including ensemble members Joan Allen, Laurie Metcalf and Martha Plimpton, as well as Juliette Lewis, Julianna Margulies, Margo Martindale, Julianne Nicholson and Mary-Louise Parker.
The event will be held Feb. 4 in Chicago, at a location yet to be announced.

Variety has reported that Claire and ‘Scream Queens’ actress Lea Michele flew over to Cannes yesterday to honor Fox Television Chiefs, Dana Walden and Gary Newman, at Mipcom Personalities Of The Year Awards. CANNES — “Scream Queens” and “Glee” star Lea Michele and “Homeland’s” Claire Danes were surprise guests at an awards dinner at the Mipcom TV market in Cannes Wednesday held to pay tribute to the achievements of the chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group, Dana Walden and Gary Newman.
Walden and Newman, who were being honored as Mipcom’s Personalities of the Year, were also joined by Chris Carter, the creator of “The X-Files,” whose rebooted series had its world premiere at Mipcom on Tuesday.
Michele, who had flown from the New Orleans set of “Scream Queens,” said she felt very grateful to be working with Walden and Newman on her second show with Fox, and that she didn’t know how to say thank you, so would give them a gift of a few songs. Michele said she had been planning to wear her neck-brace from “Scream Queens” while she sang, but had been told it wasn’t a good idea. She sang three songs: “Maybe This Time” from “Cabaret,” “Glitter in the Air,” which was recorded by Pink, and Barbra Streisand song “My Man.”
Danes, who had come to Cannes on her way to Berlin, where she’s shooting “Homeland,” told the dinner’s attendees: “Dana Walden and Gary Newman have not only participated in TV’s renaissance, they are in many ways responsible for it.” She cited “Ally McBeal,” “The X-Files,” “The Simpsons,” “24,” “Homeland,” “Modern Family” and “Empire” as just some of the shows that have been produced by Fox under Walden and Newman’s stewardship. Danes described them as “the best team in the business.”
According to Variety, Claire is set to receive her very own Walk of Fame star on September 24!
