Claire was on CBS This Morning yesterday to talk about the upcoming season of HOMELAND, which premieres this Sunday, January 15, 2017. About Carrie’s mental state, Claire said “We find her well medicated this season, but there’s still plenty of chaos in her life”. She also talks about Carrie’s relationship with Peter Quinn, stating that she doesn’t believe they were ever to be “romantically linked”, and that they are too similar to one another. Watch the video below.
As we posted a few days ago, Claire had a cameo in the Season 7 premiere of the show ‘Portlandia’, which aired on January 5. She played a storytelling expert who was previously an identity thief – and it was glorious. Our gallery has been updated with screen captures of her scenes in the episode.
Claire Danes loves a lot of things about starring on Homeland, but the thing she loves most is the week she gets to spend at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, each year, geeking out with real-life spies. “It’s so wild, you have no idea,” she says, her eyes glowing. “They curate a group of people who have good stories for us—experts in social media and counterterrorism and drug trafficking—and it’s just fascinating. It’s my favorite thing about the job.”
We’re sitting at Cafe Clover in New York’s West Village on a warm October afternoon, and at the moment, Danes couldn’t look less like a spy. Dressed in a yellow cotton blouse, Acne dark skinny jeans, and Chloé snakeskin flats, Danes fits right in with the rest of the stylish downtown crowd—most of whom happen to be staring at her.
As we had previously posted, Claire is on the cover of the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar. A new video of her behind the scenes of the photo session by Alexi Lubomirski has been released, and you can watch it below.
According to the website Oregon Live, Claire is set to appear on the season 7 premiere of the show PORTLANDIA, which airs at 7 p.m. and repeats at 10 p.m. on IFC Thursday, January 5.
Maybe Danes was relieved to be free of her Carrie Mathison character from “Homeland,” who’s forever crying, going through emotional turmoil and making hot-headed decisions about fighting international terrorism.
Danes definitely seems to be having a blast in the “Portlandia” Season 7 premiere as a storytelling coach, with dramatic hair and intense advice for the Fred and Carrie characters, who want to up their storytelling game to stand out at dinner parties.

Claire is on the cover of the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar! She talks about the upcoming season of HOMELAND, which starts on January 19, and the current political situation of the world. The full interview by Elizabeth Day is on the issue, out on the 4th of January.
As she returns in the thrilling new series of Homeland – which is set in New York, in the run-up to the presidential inauguration – Claire Danes discusses the febrile phenomenon of Donald Trump, the feverish state of modern politics, and the powerful intensity of her role as a brilliant bipolar CIA agent in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
“I do think that England and America are so closely affiliated that it’s not terribly surprising there’s this parallel phenomenon occurring between our two countries,” Danes says. “The Brexit and Trump phenomena are informed by similar forces and social and economic movements. I think it’s been really stressful; it’s been really scary. I think we’re in a fever state and we’re all really anxious about how we’ve gotten here and why we’ve gotten here.”
In fact, the sixth season of Homeland, which Danes is currently filming, features a female president-elect “who is kind of a composite of the two major candidates of this election: some of Clinton and maybe the smallest dash of Trump. She has the kind of tenacity of Hillary but is a little rogue and more intensely liberal.”
Claire as Carrie Mathison
Post-production ― January 2018 HOMELAND is an edge-of-your-seat sensation. CIA officer Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is tops in her field despite being bipolar, which makes her volatile and unpredictable. With the help of her long-time mentor Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), Carrie fearlessly risks everything, including her personal well-being and even sanity, at every turn. You won't be able to turn away from this gripping, emotional thriller in which nothing short of the fate of our nation is at stake.
Brigsby Bear (2017)
Claire as Clare Brigsby Bear Adventures is a low-budget children's TV show produced for an audience of one, James. When the show abruptly ends, James realizes that everything about his life is a lie, and he must learn to cope with the realities of a new world that he knows nothing about.
