According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 7th season of Homeland is set to film in Virginia, US. Alex Gansa, the showrunner, and Terry McAuliffe, current governor of Virginia, have released statements about the move, and you can read them below.

The Showtime drama is relocating production to Virginia for its upcoming seventh season. Filming will begin in the Richmond area this fall, with the network eyeing a 2018 premiere. The Emmy-winning drama starring Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin, which was renewed for seasons seven and eight last August, returned to the U.S. last year to film in New York after spending the two previous seasons shooting in South Africa and Berlin.

“We’re thrilled to bring the production of Homeland to the great state of Virginia. Its cities and neighborhoods and people will surely provide a rich backdrop for our story, and we in turn aim to provide a small but hopefully significant boost to the local economy,” said Alex Gansa, who serves as the showrunner and executive producer of the Fox 21 Television Studios series.

Claire is featured in the July issue of F*** Magazine! There isn’t really an article, she just seems to be listed as a well known actress that was once a teen star. The pages feature a picture from the “My So-Called Life” promotional photoshoot and a couple of stills from “Romeo + Juliet”, one of which was edited with a pretty painting effect. Thanks to Alikat, from sofia-boutella.com, for sending these scans our way!

I just came across a new interview of Claire for Entertainment Tonight, which was released about a week ago as part of their series about this year’s Primetime Emmy contenders. You can read it below.

Never a stranger to tackling hot-button topics and explosive political situations, the Showtime drama Homeland found itself in the middle of a real-life plot twist so good it was impossible to ignore — the 2016 presidential election and its cultural and political aftermath.

While in the middle of the series’ sixth season, showrunner Alex Gansa began writing new scripts and retrofitting scenes into already shot episodes that reflected America’s current political climate, placing a greater burden on the series’ star, Claire Danes, in her role as Carrie Mathison.

“The onus is on the writers to make the show as relevant and reflective of what’s happening as possible. I’m interpreting their work, so it’s fun for me,” Danes tells ET, explaining that it’s the actor’s responsibility to be flexible and responsive to the ever-changing nature of their work. “That’s true of television in general; you’re airing as you’re filming, as you’re writing. It’s all happening simultaneously. You have to rely on your experience and your reflexes and your technique, but also your intuition. I think you just have to do it and pray that it’s working.”
