Today we bring you some sad (but expected) news regarding Homeland. It has been announced by Claire herself that she show would end with Season 8, during an interview on SiriusXM. You can read the full article, posted by The Hollywood Reporter, and listen to the interview bellow!
As expected, Homeland will end with its upcoming eighth season.
Star Claire Danes has confirmed the news in an interview with Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show. “Yeah, that’s it,” she said when the host brought up the fact that the next season is rumored to be the drama’s last. A representative for Showtime said the network has not made a decision beyond season eight.
The network renewed Homeland for a seventh and eighth season ahead of its sixth season premiere. In February, series showrunner Alex Gansa told The Hollywood Reporter that season eight would likely be his last year — but noted he wasn’t sure that’d be the case for the others on the show.
“It’s definitely going to be my last year,” he explained. “I can’t speak for Claire or Mandy, but it will be my final year and it will be designed to be the end of an eight-season story. If Showtime, Fox, Claire and Mandy want to take the show further that’s their decision, and we would leave some room for that to happen — if there’s an appetite.”
When Stern asked Danes how she’s dealing with this being the last season, the actress acknowledged that she feels “really conflicted” about it. “I mean, I’ll be ready. She’s a lot, this Carrie-freakin’ Mathison character,” she explained. “It’s a workout, so I’ll be ready for a reprieve from that. During the interview, Danes also revealed that she’s pregnant with her second child with husband Hugh Dancy.
The official trailer for Claire’s upcoming film “A Kid Like Jake” (featuring Jim Parsons) have now been released! Check it out below.
A Brooklyn couple has always known that their four-year-old son is more interested in fairy tale princesses than toy cars. But when his preschool director points out that his gender-nonconforming play may be more than a phase, the couple is forced to rethink their roles as parents and spouses.

Claire’s most recent movie – A Kid Like Jake – is set to open the San Francisco Film Festival on April 4! The news comes from Variety.
Claire Danes’ family drama “A Kid Like Jake” will open the San Francisco International Film Festival on April 4.
The festival also announced that its closing night film will be Joaquin Phoenix’s “Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot,” which will screen on April 17.
The 61-year-old festival, organized through the San Francisco Film Society, touts itself as the oldest movie fest in the U.S. The organization announced most of its lineup at a news conference on Wednesday.
“A Kid Like Jake,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, is directed by Silas Howard and written by Daniel Pearle, based on his 2013 play of the same name. The film also stars Jim Parsons, Octavia Spencer, and Priyanka Chopra. Danes and Parsons portray parents looking for the “right” New York primary school for their 4-year-old son who prefers Disney princesses to G.I. Joe. IFC bought domestic rights to “Jake” last month.
“Don’t Worry,” which also debuted at Sundance, is directed by Gus Van Sant and is based on late cartoonist John Callahan’s memoir of the same name. Jonah Hill, Rooney Mara, and Jack Black also star in the biopic. Amazon is opening the film on July 13.
The festival will also hold a tribute to filmmaker Wayne Wang, with a screening of “Smoke.” Wang’s credits include “Chan Is Missing,” “Maid in Manhattan,” “The Joy Luck Club,” “Anywhere but Here,” and “A Thousand Years of Good Prayers.” Other tributes unveiled Wednesday include Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (George Gund III Craft of Cinema Award), Annette Insdorf (Mel Novikoff Award), and Nathaniel Dorsky (Persistence of Vision Award).
The fest had already announced that its centerpiece film will be Boots Riley’s satire “Sorry to Bother You” on April 12. Charlize Theron will be honored at the event with a special tribute, followed by a screening of her new film “Tully” on April 8.
